Want to play Dice 2D on PC? This digital dice roller brings the simplicity of physical dice to your desktop, letting you roll when you don't have the real thing handy. Built by Jan Hruška, Dice 2D keeps things straightforward—no unnecessary features, just reliable rolls for board games and casual play. Running it on a larger screen makes tracking rolls easier, and you can review your roll history to keep everyone honest.
Dice 2D for PC Windows works best when you want a lightweight, no-frills dice solution. The app prioritizes clarity and speed over flashy animations, making it ideal for quick gaming sessions where you just need the numbers. Its small file size and minimal permission requests mean fast downloads and a clean installation.
Core Features
The app includes sound effects when you roll, letting you hear that satisfying dice-throw sound even on a silent phone. You can toggle sound on and off depending on your mood. The rolling mechanics are gesture-based—swipe to roll—though some players find the gesture detection finicky. A time-display option shows the interval between rolls, useful if you want to verify the timing of successive throws. The roll history feature logs every result, making it transparent for group play.
Gameplay Options
Dice 2D works with six-sided dice, and you can have up to six of them on screen at once. If you lock certain dice before rolling, they stay put while others change. The app supports the game Mia (also called Mexican or Mexico), where hiding your phone and rolling by gesture adds a social element to the dice mechanic. This mode works best when passed around a group.
What to Know Before Playing
The rolling method—fast swiping from a specific starting point and direction—takes practice to master smoothly. Some players prefer tap-to-roll simplicity. The app is limited to six-sided dice only; if you need d20s, d12s, or other polyhedral dice, you'll need a different app. The gesture-lock feature and swiping mode don't always work together as expected, so test the settings that match your play style before settling in.
